Results Round 14

Melbourne v West Coast Eagles
2.00pm Saturday 4th July 2009

MCG

M

Wow! What a pressure cooker situation! We had been poor the past 3 weeks and things were grim however with the news of Jim and just that little niggle in the air and the Dees were ripe for a well earned victory.  Well, didnt they just come out and mean business? Tackling was up, tenacity was up and yes, emotions were running high. This resulted in a few skirmishes and a few reports. Alas, Colin Sylvia reacted a little too intensely and copped a three match ban due to previous indiscretions. Very disappointing as he has been in fine form but just means that someone else gets an opportunity to show what they can do before the season is out and let's hope for whoever is promoted, that this is the case. Col will be back with a vengeance, as stated on the website, he is more disappointed than we are but just another football lesson to be learned.

We must be patient. Our time will come. The Demons will rise with our young stars leading the way but until then we must endure some pain along the way. This week the boys come up here to Brisbane to take on the Lions. It will be a big ask but wouldn't it be sensational to win this one? Brisbane can be a bit hot and cold but we have to be boiling for four quarters and that is a big ask of this group.
